Family Run, Independent Mobile Locksmiths
If you are locked out of your property, please call us now on the number above.
Finding yourself locked out of your home or business, (or anywhere else for that matter), can be a horrible experience
At Lock Express, we aim to make this experience as painless as possible.
If you haven’t already called us, then please do so as soon as possible. We normally accept jobs on a first come first served basis, but we are always ready to undertake emergency calls whenever they may arise.
How to contact us?
We strongly recommend that you phone us, (unless it isn’t urgent, and that’s probably unlikely).
We will take some details, including your address and contact details, and also the nature of your predicament. (Don’t worry if you don’t know the type of door or lock that you have, we won’t bombard you with technical questions).
We will advise you of the price and how long we expect to take to get to you.
If we feel that we cannot get to you in the near future, then we will tell you so. Unlike some companies who will string their customers along, we prefer to let you have the choice of whether or not to try elsewhere, (we really hope you don’t though)!
Remember. When you call us you speak to actual locksmiths. We never use call centres or sales staff. The locksmith on the phone will probably be the one who opens your door for you!
We operate with a fixed fee rather than an hourly rate. This means that we can do our job properly, and you can relax, and neither of us have to worry about watching the clock!
Most lock-outs however, are resolved quite quickly. In fact we pride ourselves on the speed with which we can get you back in!
On occasion there may be charges for materials, if, for instance a lock is faulty and beyond repair. Or if you require a change of keys due to a security breach. You are, of course, under no obligation to purchase any locks from us should you wish to source your own.
What We Do.
Well, for security reasons, obviously, we can’t divulge too many secrets here!
We take great pride in the emergency service that we offer, and it is always our aim to get you back into your property as quickly as we can. To that end, we carry a vast range of equipment designed to gain entry with as little disruption as possible.
Occasionally, of course, we come across locks which may be a little harder to get through, and these may take a little more time to bypass, but rest assured we will get you in!
Actually, the longer it takes us to open your door, the better your level of security is likely to be. If we get in too quickly perhaps you should think about upgrading your locks! (Little consolation when you’re locked out I know)!
People don’t just find themselves locked out of properties though, quite often we get called out to people who are locked in.
Although to some this may sound mildly comical, this can actually be a much more distressing experience than being shut out of a building, especially for people with a dislike of enclosed spaces. Our advice remains the same. Don’t panic. We are well prepared to deal with such situations in a professional and reassuring manner.
It may actually take a little longer to get the door opened when a person has become locked in. This is often because the lock or latch mechanism has failed and requires more persuasion than a lock that is simply missing its keys. Also, because internal doors are generally weaker, we may have to work with a gentler touch to minimise the risk of damaging the door.
Locked out of your car?
We don’t currently offer a vehicle locksmith service, but we can, at least, offer you some advice.
Don’t act hastily! Before you smash a window, please look at the options available to you.
Are you a member of the AA or RAC or other motoring organisation? If so, please give them a call first, they may be able to help.
Is there any provision made in your car insurance policy for this type of emergency? It may be worth a call.
Does anyone else have access to a spare key?
There are specialist auto-locksmiths available. They should be able to resolve your problem with the minimum of fuss.
If you do decide to break a window. It is well worth consulting a vehicle glazing company first, to ensure that you don’t break the most expensive to replace window, and to confirm that this is the most cost-affective option available to you.
Best of luck!
What else we do.
Keys go missing all of the time. Because of this, it is not just door locks that we get called upon to open.
We also regularly deal with lock-outs involving the following items:
Office furniture-desks, filing cabinets, cupboards, drawers, lockers, briefcases etc
Small safes-electronic and key operated.
Sheds and garages
Padlocks, gate-locks, shutters, bike locks etc
Antique furniture- desks, bureaus, cabinets, jewellery boxes etc. (We take considerable pride in our damage-free opening of antique furniture locks).
